Congratulations to Carling and her husband Matt! Carling, Matt and her family welcomed the arrival of Kelly Robert Campbell on April 21st at 2:07pm. Kelly weighed 7lbs and 15oz. Carling and the baby are doing well.

The first week of May we celebrate Cinco de Mayo on Friday May 5th in the afternoon with a Mexican Fiesta. May 5th, 1862, the day the Mexican arm was victorious over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican war.

The second week of May on Sunday May 14th is Mother’s Day. This year we are hosting a Mother’s Day Tea on Friday May 12th for our mothers at Conestoga Lodge. On Mother’s Day Miranda will be handing out flowers to all the ladies during lunch. There will be a special Mother’s Day Lunch that day. We wish all the wonderful mothers at Conestoga Lodge a very Happy Mother’s Day!

May 10th is the food meeting with Kevin the Food Service Manager. All residents are welcome to attend.

On May 18th a birthday party will be held along with entertainment to celebrate everyone’s birthday in May. Wishing everyone born in May a Happy Birthday!

Outings this month are Stanley Park Mall, Swiss Chalet, and New Hamburg Thrift Centre.

Entertainment this month is Leavin Tracks, Girlfriends Show, Paul Schalm and Bill Spears.

There are three speakers coming to visit. The first presentation will be on St. Jacobs Model Railway with Ross White. The second presentation is on Fraud with Seniors presented by Constable Jordan Black. Residents can bring one family member to attend this presentation. Signing up is required as space is limited to 25 residents with one family member. Refreshments will be served. The third presentation is on Geography of Signs with Historical Society Speaker, Warren Stauch.

May 23rd the gardening group will be starting up. If you have any suggesting on what you would like to plant this year, please let Miranda know.

We welcome back Ruth Mill who will be running Tea and Tales again on some Wednesday evenings a month with her friend Kathy. Please come out and visit!

A huge “Thank You” to Peter Capindale for putting on Saturday movies and Sunday Church services for the residents!
